From 6 to 8 March,members of the LEADERKA DRIVE movement held a strategic meeting to discuss overcoming the community’s challenges caused by russia’s war against Ukraine and to ensure the rights of girls and women with disabilities are met.

On International Women’s Day, Fight For Right led a column at the Women’s March together with women veterans, members of the LEADERKA DRIVE Movement, and disability rights activists.

In Brussels, a Fight For Right delegation led by the head of the organization, Yuliia Sachuk, held meetings with the Directorate-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighbourhood Policy (DG ENEST), which is responsible for preparing the Report.

From August 9 to 12, Fight For Right held the “STRENGTHENING: Business and Professional Growth for Women Veterans” school.

From July 14–18, Brussels hosted the first International LEADERKA School of Political Participation for girls and women with disabilities, which was organized by Fight For Right in partnership with the European Network on Independent Living (ENIL).

Fight For Right, in collaboration with the New Society Institute and Validity Foundation, and with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation, held a strategic workshop titled “Towards a Reconstruction and Recovery Strategy for Deinstitutionalization and Full Inclusion in Ukraine.”

Fight For Right (Ukraine) and ENIL are excited to announce the opening of applications for the Leadership Summer School, which will take place from 14 – 18 July 2025 in Brussels, Belgium.

In January, 2025,  seven young women with psychosocial and intellectual disabilities, students of the “Stavnykovych art studio”, for the first time presented their art works at the exhibition  ‘Just Drawings’ in Lviv, Ukraine. The couple’s story shows that older people from the deoccupied territories need significant assistance rebuilding their homes and providing medical care.

On December 3rd, 2024, “Fight For Right” OPD and “The League of Strong” held a public action “Is the Path to the EU Accessible?” for people with disabilities on Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) in Kyiv, in the framework of the National Forum on the Rights of People with Disabilities.

The National Forum on the Rights of People with Disabilities “On the Way to the EU” was held from December 2 to 4. The participants were welcomed by the leaders of Fight For Right and the League of Strong.

At the 31st session of the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Geneva, delegations from the government of Ukraine and civil society, in particular the Fight For Right team, spoke about the impact of war on the rights of people with disabilities and sought solutions to mitigate this influence.
